Things in my House Thursday - Outside
>> Wednesday, June 3, 2009
I was in the backyard minding the 'garden' as well as my own business. Then this bird flew right in front of my face, with a worm dangling from its mouth, and landed on the fence. I was confused by the invasion of my personal space, but then started wondering where it was going with that worm, because it wasn't being consumed.
Well, rude Orange Feathers hopped along the fence to a previously unnoticed Fuzzy Fat Bird, and fed it the worm!
Fuzzy Fat was not a baby, and they didn't even look related; I still haven't figured out their arrangement.
This is the part where I ran inside to get the camera, but, of course, Orange Feathers never repeated the act. Fuzzy Fat never moved from its spot, and Orange Feathers came and went, keeping a close eye on things, but minus any meals.
So this is the best photo-journalism I could come up with.... I think I was trying too hard to be like Carol, but I just don't have the patience. : )

Ha - yes, I wondered if I was at Carol's here at first! It does make me curious what the relationship is between the two birds - you'll have to see if you spot them again. I would hate having one almost fly into my face. AGHHHH!
The movie "The Birds" came to mind when reading your post! Ack, would not like having a bird fly close to me. That's an interesting arrangement those two have; maybe the one was entertaining the other and as a gracious host(ess), fed the guest his/her meal. ;-)

They are so cute!!!!! You know, we have baby birds that eat at the feeders and are as big as mom yet mom will still feed them. They are adorable because they get all excited and jiggle their bodies with light wing flaps when mom comes near with food.
How cute! Maybe that one bird is just like the neighborhood "mama" who feeds anyone who happens to be hungry, wether they're related or not. Beautiful pictures too! :)
