American Idol Shocker

>> Thursday, April 10, 2008

I just have no words. Very reminiscent of when Chris Daughtry got voted off, Season 5.
I believe Michael Johns was just as shocked as the viewers; he wasn't on any of the bottom three lists that I knew of. It makes so very little sense.
Sigh.

I have to agree with you. I was also shocked by Michael being voted off. He looked stunned! I thought for sure it was one of the girls. It's hard to believe, one poor song choice, as Simon says, did him in for the competition.

BUT, I was equally blown away by the song the group led off the show with. Don't get me wrong, it's one of my favorites, but I couldn't believe they sang in on national tv and even left the name Jesus in. Did that surprise anyone else?

That group song surprised tons of people. It was the song they finished with (all dressed in white) the night before, and I guess people liked it enough that they opened the next show with it.

We downloaded it from itunes. . .

As for Michael, one bad song choice shouldn't have mattered - I mean, look at David Cook. . .

I really didnt expect Michael Johns to get voted off last night, but I likewise did not think he'd make it to the final. He really was one of my least favorites still there.

I think song choice and the judge's comments somehow do end up making a difference at times. I think you can look at Kristy Lee Cook to see that. She sang a great song on Tuesday night (for her..and so fitting for her) and got a great review. For the first time in many weeks she was not in the final three. (someone else took "her seat")She seems to slowly be "getting it" and is improving where the other contestants are staying so equal from where they started. (IMO)

As you know, I don't watch the show; but, on the bright side, I can say, losing on AI obviously didn't hurt Christ Daughtry's career.

You're right Renna - Michael should still have a career in music.

Maybe this turn of events will actually help him somehow!
