This Makes Me Sick

"American is top dog in eating contest"
The headline doesn't surprise me, but just hearing or reading this news story makes me a little quesy.
The winner, Joey Chestnut, ate 59 hot dogs in 10 minutes, before gobbling another five dogs in a tie breaker.
I'll let you take a moment to digest that (pun intended!).
I like hot dogs, but I probably won't be able to eat one for at least a month. . .

Ewwwww.....No thanks!! I only like hotdogs if they have been cooked very well done over a campfire. And then, only occasionally.
Oh, ugh! I just ate two that we cooked on the grill. I'm sitting here miserable, asking myself WHY I ate that second one. I cannot even imagine eating 59! :-o
I couldn't do it even if I had a whole month - two dogs a day. TEN MINUTES. Gross!!!!
My stomach hurts just from thinking about it. Ugh!
I worked at a place near here in college called "Yum Yum" which is known for it's hot dogs and homemade ice cream. That pretty much cured me of desiring hot dogs more than the occasional few here and there.
The whole eating contest thing just goes beyond my comprehension though, especially where hot dogs are concerned. It is sick on many levels-not just for the amount of food they eat at these things but the fact that the same food eaten at these contests could feed hundreds-thousands of people that do not have enough to eat as it is in this country and other countries around the world.
It flaunts gluttony and just doesn't sit right with me.
