Things In My House - Graduation
>> Thursday, May 14, 2009
Christopher is THRILLED that school is over, but is fairly anti-photo, anti-commencement, anti-all the hoopla. Too bad!
He's not anti-social, like it sounds, he's just very much still a shy homebody. He's done the work, he just wants the paper. Not worried about the recognition.

Graduation trivia: Before the graduation, candidates are referred to as Graduands.
Also, in my house this Thursday, is my sprained ankle. I've never sprained anything before, and this is the biggest annoyance and inconvenience.
I'm trying to stay off of it - and not be a limping, hobbling invalid at the graduation ceremony - that is very hard to do! Reclining on the couch with my leg elevated, surrounded by books and magazines I've been meaning to read for months, and with a hot pot of coffee - this morning was fine.
By mid-afternoon I was stir-crazy and fretting over all the shopping and errands and cleaning I needed to be doing, distraught because I couldn't exercise and therefore couldn't consume as many calories as in Mary's freshly baked double chocolate chip cookies.... oh, the troubles!

He's so handsome! I can relate to the shy ... I have one who would not like posing for photos either. CONGRATS on a job well done - to both of you! I did NOT know the graduands thing - how did you learn that?
Oooh ... and I am SORRY about your ankle. Thankfully I have never sprained anything. A few years back, my mom fractured a bone in her foot. It drove her NUTS keeping off of it (and she was not totally successful in doing it). I hope it heals quickly!
Christopher sounds like my kinda guy. I hate the hoopla of things too!! Congrats to Christopher and I wish him great things as he journeys into adulthood!!
Sorry about your ankle. That sucks big time. I hope it heals fast for you and you can get back to that house cleaning you love so much! HAHAHA
Congrats to your Christopher!
May God bless him in whatever he does in the future.
Hope your ankle heals quickly!
