For Susan

AKA SuSu. She know what this means. It means I am BETTER.

For everyone else, this is a game from Nintendo. I play it on my daughter's (Mary) DS. It's part of Brain Age 2 . They include it as a relaxation game, but until I figured it out, there was some tense, 'Baptist cursing' going on. Susan is the reason I persevered, because she put her high score out there AS IF maybe I couldn't beat it.

Let me go ahead and recommend that all my adult readers go out and get themselves a DS system, or swipe your child's. There is so much they offer for us! These are the games that I enjoy: Brain Age and Brain Age 2, Big Brain (theme, anyone?), and Flash Focus. The brain games are fun and fantastic for us all, but I am mostly addicted to playing Sudoku on them. Flash Focus is vision training.

The kids also play My Spanish Coach, and Mary enjoys The Bible Game.

The system is small and portable and we take it everywhere. If you don't already have access to one, Mother's Day is just 'around the corner'. . .

Congrats! I've seen that Spanish Coach in stores, is it good?

Yes, it is good. It all by itself would not help you learn the language, but it is good for strengthening.

How do you get to that? I have brain age 2 and have never seen that!

Christopher found it. Told the rest of us.

You scroll down the list of training activities and click on the very last box of question marks.

it's called VirusBuster.

You are the second or third adult I've heard recommend these games recently. Maybe they really are I could handle. ;-Þ

Wow!!! I am so impressed. You're sure that's not a doctored picture? I forgot what my high score was but I now have something to aim for because I know it wasn't that high. What's your brain age been lately? In the 20's right? Again, not that I doubted you, but I am really impressed you mastered it so quickly. I think I'll go play now. I'll get back to you.

Renna - you could handle these games. Video games always made me 'nervous' and I've never enjoyed them, but these are really different. I'd be very surprised if you didn't get hooked!!

SuSu, you've got me addicted and on a mission, you WILL NEVER catch up to me now. Sorry!!

I know exactly what that means too. I bought my daughter that game for Christmas for her DS system and found it after we had been playing for a few weeks. Is it bad taste to say that my high scores are 1225, 1082 and 1073. My daughter has the highest score though on her system at 1293. I want to beat her score, but it takes so long to play it to get it up to the 1200's. (and I havent had the time to give to it). It is a seriously fun game though. My brain age is currently at 28 and between my daughter and son and myself-we are all very competitive with this.

Do you guys have the DS puppy games? My son and daughter both have a different one and we've all enjoyed that one too.

The spanish one sounds like it might be interesting. We'll have to look into it. Thanks for the suggestion.

...and by puppy games, I mean nintendogs...specifically.

I have the Nintendogs Dauschaund and have enjoyed it. Although it does get boring after a while...

Mary had the Nintendogs Chihuahua but doesn't play it anymore. She still plays Animal Crossing.

Muddy, those high scores are RIDICULOUS. Susan had already called to say she has beaten my new high score, but now we both have to shoot WAY higher. . .

I'm gonna have to go play RIGHT NOW.

My word!!! I thought I just had a mission to beat msm now I have to try to get about 1293??? Impossible!! I can't even imagine what chunk of time that would take to even attempt it. Oh well, you never know until you try. Here I was so proud to have gotten to 598. That's not even half of the best. Here I go again.

MSM March 30, 2008 at 9:04 PM

yeah, you're going again Susu, because I just got 601, level 20!!! I have a picture!!

It's so addicting. It's also fustrating to get to 1121 while trying to outdo my daughter's 1293 and get stuck like I did the other night. Most of the time I dont make it that far, but when I do, I hope that it is finally the time when I beat my daughter's score again. Sighz
