For Elana
>> Wednesday, April 2, 2008
Bossy junior blogger Elana, aka sourpatch, has made some of us senior bloggers feel guilty after reading her blogging tips and helpful hints.
She's right, of course, and she's providing a valuable service, but still. . .
( Junior and senior are actually just euphemisms for young and 'old', because we started blogging about the same time. . . . I'm no more experienced than she).
NUMBER ONE: Post every day.
Number 10 - post about anything.
So, Elana, this riveting Wednesday report is in your honor:
Today I got out of bed. . .
I looked at all the Avon catalogs and literature because Mary was placing her order today.
I went over to Sharon's to proof-read a brochure she was working on for her church.
I took Mary to sewing class, then stopped and got gas on the way home. $30ish for 10ish gallons!
Ate lunch after gathering papers and adding figures for our taxes: had sardines in olive oil with some organic stoneground wheat and flaxseed crackers.
Popped a peppermint in my mouth for the sake of everyone around me when I went to pick up Mary from sewing.
Home, tax guy, home, brain age, laundry, Sharon's again.
Dinner: organic steak, skillet corn, and edamame. I LOVE eating edamame because it is an event as well as delicious. And I LOVE saying edda-mom-A.
I directed dinner but Christopher and Mary cooked. They used our stovetop grill that we bought at the Subsidium Carousel of Shoppes last year, and the steak was great.
Watched Wheel of Fortune while I cleaned up the kitchen (since the kids cooked), then did this little bit of blogging.
Time to watch American Idol now and see who gets eliminated.
Tune in here tomorrow! I'm going to be better about posting!

I think it's interesting hearing about all that stuff! Now, if we can just get some more info on what Mary is sewing. :hint, hint: :)
Oh come on! I was just putting some info, for me, too, actually... :) Mary's good at blogging though, very good actually. I'm still waiting for Mrs. Susan's blog though!!?
sourpatch
riveting.
Also, Matt and I tossed around the idea of just starting a blog for Su-Su- we could all post on it and just say what we *think* she would say.
I love the idea of posting as SuSu !! Let's start thinking of blog names:
SuSu Says:
or
Susan Speaks
or
What Susan would say if she had a blog . . .
And sourpatch; you were doing us ALL a favor, and it's a good thing to hear that somebody cares if we post or not!
Posting everyday (or several days of the week ) is a disciplined activity. It's easy to just let it go (like I did last year -where I tried to just post once a month)
PS, so what did you think about American Idol the past two nights?
Your life is so much more interesting than mine. :o)
Time to go clean up the dog pooh in the back yard. :-P
Oh, Amy, I'd be cleaning dog pooh too, but I just gave up on that task. The backyard's a weedy mess and the kids are too old to "go out and play" back there.... the dogs have taken over.
Oh, where do I start? As for blogging...as you all know I would be no good at it. Better than my Jessica, but still not very good. However, at 4am this morning when I was writhing and crying in pain from what I suspect to be yet another kidney stone, believe it or not, I thought now this would be something to blog about. Weird where your mind goes when you're in so much pain. Obviously, I lived, since I'm writing about it. Not fun, but it got me sympathy from Brandon for a little while. That's something!!!
Now, it would be quite entertaining to see what you all think I'd say on certain subjects. You all think you know me that well, uh? Very interesting indeed! Be sure to tell me where to look for it.
Now, msm, what exactly is edamame (sp)? I've heard of it, but have never tasted it. Since you all know me so well, would I like it or think it's gross?
Keep blogging friends!!
Well, Susu, sorry for your pain! And I completely understand the idea that when you are feeling something so intensely, good or bad, that that is when you think you can be an important and / or interesting blogger.
Edamame - soybeans in the 'shell'. I doubt you'd be crazy about them. Truthfully, they are a little bland and a little beany; I don't know why I like the flavor so much. I also like that I pop them out of the 'pod' to eat them, so it takes time and I don't overeat. . . (whatever it takes). ( Click on the word that is highlighted in my post, and it takes you to an edamame explanation.)
We'll direct you to your own blog as soon as it's up and running. . . . : )
I guess it's true, you do learn something everyday. I just learned how to pronounce edamame. ;-Þ
