I don't want to spend more than $500 on groceries, and I want the food to be nutritious and low-calorie. Oh, and, I want most of it to be organic. Oh, and, I want lunches included.
(I can handle breakfast - oatmeal, eggs, toast, waffles; that's the easiest meal. I'm not so picky in the mornings when I'm hungry. But this food would be part of the $500).
I want the smart stuff that the smart people do: like saving the chicken broth from one night to use the next night, etc.
I keep reading these blogs where women are feeding families of six on $100 a month - or something just as crazy. I know they clip coupons . . . . but I don't get coupons for the things I buy. I don't have coupons for organic milk or Kashi cereal or Van's waffles or bananas or organic soup or organic meat, etc. I find coupons I can use, but that is almost always me buying something I would NOT have gotten, but do, just because I have a coupon. (I'm a marketer's dream shopper).
Alot of these super moms live near a CVS (?); I don't. I do have Aldi, but that doesn't fill the organic requirement. Also, I don't have an extra refridgerator or freezer, so I can't really stock up on certain items.

I'm no help, but I will be paying very close attention to the responses you get, 'cause I'd like to be able to do the same.
Of course, here where I live, in Hicksville, USA, organic anything is slim pickins!

I just discovered this quarterly mag and they do a week long menu in one grocery bag and a month of menus with shopping lists. It is possible the perfect food magazine. I have been doing the week of dinners and so far they have been delicious and healthy.
Doesn't sound like too much to ask to me! I'll be waiting and hoping that someone comes along. :o)

I mainly starting couponing just to see if it really did save me that much money. But there are some things you have to be willing to do, like not being brand loyal, in order to save the most moolah.
I don't shop organic (yet) and we don't have meat with every meal so that's why I can keep it down to around $50 week.
I DO have a 2nd frig so I am able to stockpile things that we use often so we don't run out.
We do have an Aldi and it's great but you're right, it doesn't fit the organic bill.
For coupons on organic items I would suggest calling or emailing the companies who's brands you like. I have done this and have gotten tons of coupons in the mail. Also go to their websites to see if they offer any online.

I really hope this helps you get started in the right direction. I know you have a few more requirements to fill unlike I did in the beginning. But it can still be done. It just takes patience, planning and time.

Renna, we used to only have Wild Oats for organic choices, but now Kroger has an excellent selection as does our Target. Walmart and Costco even have some things.
It's easier and easier for me to find organic choices for things, but that also means I usually spend more. . .
Do you think it might be cheaper to go to Wild Oats?
Kroger probably has to charge more since they are taking up space from cheaper products to put the organic stuff in?
With all the crazy organic-fest going around, (and Wild Oats being bought out by Whole Foods)- it seems that their buying power might be better since they are buying for a huge chain of stores now as well as the demand going up. You might want to help back out there and price compare.
