Three Bears and a Monkey - News Update
>> Saturday, December 13, 2008
If any of you were wondering what became of those "ugly Indians" who passed through our town 125 years ago:
The police are having trouble with the Indian tramps who struck the town a few days ago. In addition to the papooses each of the women had, it developed that the trio was also traveling with three bears and a monkey. They are constantly obstructing the streets by drawing crowds of street arabs and have been ordered to leave the city.

Oh my - "Indian tramps" and now "street arabs"?!! Would you believe now my kids' school doesn't even learn about Christmas?? Actually, yesterday they had "diversity day" and learned about Hannukah, Indian customs, Chinese, etc. My daughter said in the Christmas room they talked a little about Santa, but NO mention of Jesus. Sad.
Susan, the schools here have also "banned" Christmas.
I consider myself exceedingly blessed to be able to home school. We can celebrate the 'reason for the season' every day of the year!
The media certainly has it's way of trying to make you think the way they wanted you to think....even way back then huh? If that had been published in a current publication reporting the news today....imagine the outcry!
We too feel blessed to have been able to homeschool (and continue to with my son, Christopher) I love reading their textbooks that teach about God throughout history and science ...
I am shocked more and more by what I see. Thanks so much for sharing this. :o)
