Old News - GIRL FIGHT! 1883

>> Saturday, December 20, 2008

A fight between a couple of girls yesterday in front of Court Square attracted a large crowd, including several policeman, all of whom enjoyed the proceedings immensely. The two belabored each other with their tin buckets, pulled hair, scratched and cried, but one finally said so many bad words that the officers were forced to separate them for decency's sake.

So, some things never change (all...enjoyed the proceedings...), and some things just disappear - - - 'decency's sake' ...

Decency's sake? I wonder how my High School students would interpret this!

I love the old news - I'll contribute as long as our paper keeps providing it.
So many of the articles really fascinate and amaze me.

Cracking me up the separated them because of the words but not the beating up of each other.
