Childhood Memories - Wate-On

>> Friday, March 27, 2009

To participate in this week's Childhood Memories meme, I'm sharing a teen-hood memory.
BEING SO SKINNY THAT I ORDERED WATE-ON.
Yes, back in the day, I was just as teased and tormented for being skinny as were the girls who were a little too big. A normal weight was actually - the norm.
Skinny Minny, Bird Legs, Spaghetti Legs; those were the kind nicknames. I got this question a lot: "do you have to run around in the shower to get wet?".
I was THAT tiny in school and even after becoming an adult. But after giving birth to Jessica, I left the hospital weighing 98 lbs. I was thrilled to be 'so big'!!!
That turbo metabolism finally slowed down, and now I am dealing with the opposite problem. I know a lot people would not consider me fat / large / heavy or whatever, and question my dieting, but I am big FOR ME. I am just more comfortable being smaller than I am right now.

So There.

I cannot believe there IS such a product ... I know I should feel sympathy for your skinny self, but ... it's hard ;) Did Wate-On work? I'm sitting here thinking, maybe I could have a career as a putting-weight-on coach!!
Thanks for being part of CMF!

Yes, did it work? I'm still shocked at the 98 pounds after childbirth. You were tiny!! Did you love the extra weight that came with carrying a baby?

The wate-on did not work, though in fairness I may not have been patient or consistent enough.

I LOVED the weight that came with that first baby!!

Not so much with the next one - 11 years later, :)

Love the trendiness of "Wate." This is a riot, like something from another planet if you think about our culture today.

Wow, this is "alien" to me too. I actually heard of doctors prescribing products such as ensure to help put on some weight (and has many healthy nutrients in them). I can relate to feeling more comfortable smaller too. I am only 5'2 and recently got down to 107 and felt great but now have gained ten pounds back. I feel ok but think my joints like it when I am lighter. I have been using a cool tool called OnTarget Nutrition, Diet Tracker - Calorie Counter and it has been great so far, eating better and more energy and losing weight healthy. But it is one of the only tools that tracks weight gain too, could be helpful for you to gain or lose weight healthily. Best of luck!
