Things In My House Thursday - Outside

>> Thursday, March 26, 2009

We're in the backyard again for this week's TIMHT.

I ordered this book a while back and finally got around to reading it and implementing the ideas:

My neighbor had some extra / leftover wood, so we used that to make some off-size gardening boxes. We bought the special mix for soil (peat moss, compost, vermiculite), then planted our seeds. Mini blind slats serve as the dividers and, voila!!

We're hopefully in the farming business!

It looks great! I've been trying to get Hubby turned onto the idea of putting in a small raised bed.

I love this! I have a garden and I'm itching to get out into it. I'd love to start things early, but have killed things that way before :( I like your organization!!

Holden is begging me to let him plant a garden. I just may give it a try with a few veggies. I'd much rather grow flowers. :o) We would remove the sand from the sandbox and grow the garden in their. Not a bad plan, huh?

Yippee!!! I am wanting to start a garden this year too. I love the square foot idea. What all did you plant?

My husband does all of the gardening at our house. He has the prettiest yard in the neighborhood and works hard at it. Maybe next Thursday I will post some things in his garden.

I love that you use mini blinds to divide out your plot. Be sure to update us on the progress throughout the summer
