Saturday So Far

It was a nice outing, but unfortunately did not produce nice photos.
When we gave up and walked back over to our house, we heard a raucous noise that I thought was some outlaw bird on our roof or something. Turns out, it was this:
A squirrel was 'stuck' on the brick wall above the garage. He moved around, up and down, but acted skittish and slow and scared. He was up there for hours.
Just a few minutes ago, he fell down! Smack, on the concrete, but then scampered towards us and to our front door. He wanted in the house, then ran up over the door, across the front on the house, and fell again!! Flipped over and over down to the ground - but at least this time it was onto dirt. Right back up the wall, and this time he made it to the roof and took off.
So, we will say that he or she is just fine, and will probably be stealing leaves from our hibiscus plant by early afternoon.

Charlotte is adorable!

At least darling little Miss Charlotte was polite in her refusal for a picture shoot.
I'm not animal expert, and certainly don't mean to alarm you, but are you certain the squirrel was stuck'? I only ask because, his other behavior after falling seems so erratic, I'd be concerned about the possibility of rabies. But if he was stuck, I guess the fall probably just knocked the wits out of him.
Renna! I never thought of that - the only thing I know about rabies is Old Yeller.
So, the weird noises and odd behavior? Hmm. I'm gonna look that up. I'm glad my pets are all current on their shots.
Your Charlotte has got to be the cutest child on the planet! Well, except for Brooklyn, that is. *wink*
I wonder if there is something going on the the squirrel, too. How weird!!
Charlotte is sooo cute! She's really getting big!
That really is strange behavior for a squirrel!
I adore that curly hair. Never has a child been so cute from the back!!! I loved her No Thank You too. What a cutie!!
Poor squirrel. Didn't know they could climb the brick like that but I suppose they can climb just about anything. However it seems he didn't take into account how to get around that overhang. Too funny!!
That is one busy little girl...and sooo cute.
You know, rabies was the first thing I thought of too, when you said he ran at you...wanted to get into the house? But you know me...old farm girl...that would be the first thing I'd think of...
Take care ~Natalie
Okay; I've googled and googled - supposedly squirrels don't get rabies.
If they even did, they are a 'dead end host', because whatever gave it to them would have been a predator that killed them.
That's what 'they' say.
But I'm glad some of you mentioned it; I'll hopefully be a little more aware if other furry creatures are acting odd and consider all possibilities. Thanks!
